ACRA 2026
Wrapping up the 2025-2026 season for the Aggies, they travelled down to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, for the American Collegiate Rowing Association Championships. The Aggies raced in 3 different categories, with two novice boats and one varsity eight. The whole team put up strong fights all around, fielding eights at ACRA for both varsity and novice. The Aggies raced a varsity eight for the first time in several years. Here are the results:
Starting with the Novice:
LN4+: 3rd in B Final
The lightweight novice 4+, composed of Ouminya Benalia(coxswain), Henry Wilson-Winter(stroke), David Leroy(3), Zane Haung(2), and Derrick Chung(bow), put up a consistent fight and came in 3rd in B final.
N8+: 6th in B Final
The novice 8+, comprised of Abby Quinby(coxswain), Parker Cole(stroke), Marcus Rooney(7), Alessandro Iavarone(6), Sam Haynes(5), Corbin Howard(4), Shane Hess(3), Josh Mastromatteo(2), and Teddy Tsekov(bow) continued to excel and build upon what they had at every step of the season, causing them to drop their race time by 13 minutes between day one heats and day two semifinals.
Moving to the Varsity Boat:
V8+: 3rd in E Final
In a strong catagory, the boat made up of Mitchell Cruz(coxswain), Daniel Smith(stroke), Ryan Greenwood (7), Graham Schwendt (6), Luka Lasic (5), Ryan Tessitore(4), Augustus Elam(3), West Williams(2), and Edward Keen(bow) raced fiercely and competitively in every race. The 8 raced stringly dropping 20 seconds off their time from their first day of racing to their final.
