Hadley Sprints 2026
On Saturday, April 4th, the Aggies stayed close to home on the Connecticut River to face off with nearby schools at Hadley Sprints. The Aggies raced a V8+, V4+ (A), V4+ (B), N8+, and N4+. The weather was slightly chilly with an average of 53 degrees. Race conditions had a heavy current and winds from all around.
V8+: 2nd
Racing first was the V8+, looking to build on recent races. The boat composed of Mitchell Cruz(Coxswain), Daniel Smith(stroke), Luka Lasic(7), Ryan Tessitore(6), Ryan Greenwood(5), Edward Keen(4), Augustus Elam(3), Ahaan Singh(2), and West Williams(bow) raced to a close second place finish.
N8+: 2nd
After the varsity eights, the novice competed next. Next was the N8+ featuring Abigail Quinby(Coxswain), Parker Cole(stroke), Marcus Rooney(7), Alessandro Iavarone(6), Hector Munoz(5), Sage Arias(4), Sam Haynes(3), Corbin Howard(2), and Teddy Tsekov(bow). They raced in a competitive field against varsity boats and followed through with a second place finish.
V4+(A): 1st
Jumping back to the varsity squad was the V4+ event where the Aggies had two boats racing. The first boat, featuring Datya Kurzban(Coxswain), Daniel Smith(stroke), Luka Lasic(3), Ryan Tessitiore(2), and Auguatus Elam(bow) won their race by over 17 seconds.
V4+(B): 3rd
The second varsity 4 consisted of Chad Zannotti(Coxswain), Graham Schwendt(stroke), Nicholas Parikh(3), Edward Keen(2), and West Williams(bow) put up a strong fight finishing in a close third place end result.
N4+: 3rd
Switching back to the novice races was the novice four. Going up against varsity boats this four consisting of Oumniya Benalia(Coxswain), Josh Matromatteo(stroke), David Leroy(3), Ryan Perry(2), and Derrick Chung(bow) came to a third place finish.
Hadley Sprints was largely successful for the Aggies. It was great to compete on their home course of the Conneticut River.
Next the boys head to New Jersey for the Knecht Cup and look forward to continuing to build speed as they enter the second half of the season.
