Head of the Charles 2023

This weekend, the Aggies continue their fall 2023 season at the Head of the Charles. Competing in the men’s club 4+ event, the team looks to continue on the guaranteed entry earned by the 2022 boat, comprised of Pat McNulty, Bashir Armany, Greg Poelker, Gus LeLievre, and Sabrina Harden.

Representing UMass this year will be Mitchell Cruz (2026), Brandon Burns (2024), Sean Gerwien (2026), Max Johnson (2025), and Sam Sturdy (2025). Running a “bucket” rig, the boat’s event begins at 12:43 in a wet forecast.

Also representing UMass will be the men’s 8+ alumni boat, racing earlier in the day at 10:59. Coxed by Kelly Brown (2021), the boat is constructed of Joe Wenzel (2021), Jake Savona (2018), Colin Galvin (2021), Bashir Armany (2023), Chase Phenegar (2022), Gavin Isabel (2020), Zach Kozlowski (2023), and Henry Li (2022). Despite their young age, this boat will be rowing under the Aging Aggies Rowing Program.

Alumni and rowers will be gathering on Saturday, October 20th at 5 Greenough Blvd in Cambridge (American Legion Marsh Post #442) at the VFW, what has become Aggie tradition, for food and to spectate.. See you there!
